The JGBS Archives was established in 2014, as an effort to preserve records of the Brown School history in print, photos, video, school records, and work of students, for staff, parents and Alumni.
Donation items are welcome for the Archives. Items should designate a time period or event in the history of the Brown.
Sharing your time is also welcomed for keeping the archives updated and accessible to all interested persons. To volunteer an hour or more, please leave a message for the Alumni Association by post mail, email or phone call to the school with your contact information. An alumni will work with you to help you choose a task of your choice and time to fit your schedule.
At present, former teacher Jamie McMillin, is available in the archives on Wednesdays when school is in session from 10am to 2pm. Request more information by contacting Alumni President Cassye Ghoston at: email@example.com; or Jamie at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope for you to join us in the fun of exploring, rediscovering and preserving the history of a great school we all have been fortunate to experience and love.
The Brown School Alumni Association helped students and staff get a jump start with school supplies this year! An effort by the Alumni Association mid 2015-16 to provide teachers with requested supplies was so successful, it was made a priority for beginning this school year. Teachers were asked in June to make requests for beginning 2016-17. From that list, the association compiled alumni donations to supply requests and more. Paper towels and boxes of tissue topped the list, with over 48 rolls and boxes delivered in the first week of school. White board markers and erasers, poster board, tablets, 60+ composition books and 60+ spiral notebooks made their way into classrooms for students and staff. Hugs and smiles from teachers and students go out to all the donors. All Brown Alumni are welcome to donate to this service directly in any $$ amount with a note that it go for teacher and student supplies.
