Orientations vs. Registrations
What's the difference between an orientation and a registration session?
An orientation session is a time to meet with teachers and/or staff to learn new procedures and expectations. Participants in an orientation session would need to arrive at the starting time of the session in order to receive all the information being presented. Classroom teachers and administrators are available to share information with you and answer questions. Not all grade levels at Brown have orientations scheduled.
Registration sessions provide opportunities for parents to come in and take care of obligations prior to the start of school. You'll receive a copy of your child's course schedule (middle and high), and you'll be able to pay for school fees by writing only one check. If your child has any outstanding obligations from the previous school year (i.e., lost textbooks, cafeteria charges) you'll be able to take care of those as well.

Beginning of Year Parent Paperwork
For the 2020-21 school year, all required school paperwork will be completed and submitted online. JCPS is using an online portal called Parent Place for you to find and fill out every form required of you and your child. To access the forms, you will need to set up a Parent Place account and login that is different than your Parent Portal login information. If you need help setting up this account or accessing the forms, watch this Parent Place video. You may get more guidance on student forms and online registration here.
